Baldrige Performance Excellence Program Established in 1987, the Baldrige Program is credited with making quality and performance excellence a national priority. Administered by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Program and Award recipients are admired worldwide. Many states and countries have programs modeled after Baldrige. The Alliance for Performance Excellence This network of state and local Baldrige based organizations promote performance excellence and often serve as a starting point for organizations seeking the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. These organizations offer workshops, seminars, and conferences where one can learn, share, and connect with other organizations seeking performance excellence.  These programs also administer award and assessment programs using trained examiner teams and judges.


The American Society for Quality (ASQ) ASQ has been the leading membership based quality improvement organization in the U.S. for more than 50 years. Its members have initiated most of the quality methods used throughout the world, including statistical process control, quality cost measurement and control, total quality management, failure analysis, and zero defects. The site offers considerable information on state of the art best practices in performance measurement, Six Sigma, and many other process improvement approaches.
